Many items, objects, relics, and weapons have achieved importance over the course of history, some more than others, and some even remain in use to this day. Most, however, eventually came into the possession of select individuals and other organizations and now sit on shelves gathering dust.
The legendary sword Zulfiqar (from the Arabic Ḏū-l-Faqār or Ḏū-l-Fiqār) was said to have been given to Muḥammad, the founder of Islam, by the archangel Gabriel, and in turn was given to his cousin 'Alī bin Abī Ṭālib so that he could wield it during the Battle of Uhud. {The Qur'ān} Zulfiqar is often thought of and depicted as being a split-bladed scimitar, and is featured as such on Islamic flags, but evidence indicates that Zulfiqar itself was actually just a metal handle at most times, an unassuming form. However, when an equally unassuming stud was pressed, a beam of green energy would extend from the hilt, creating a sword blade that could cut through rock and stone with ease. {Star Wars ₁₉₇₇}
